Walk-In Closet Accessories
The parts that turn a room full of hanging into a dressing room. Every one is quoted as a line on your drawing, so you can take it out and see what comes off.
What the room needs
Walk-In Closet Accessories
A walk-in has something a reach-in never does: floor in the middle of the room. That single fact is what most of these accessories exist to use — an island, a bench, a full-length mirror on a return wall, a shoe gallery deep enough to angle the shelves. In a closet you walk into, the middle of the room is storage, not circulation.
The other half is display. Once a closet has a door you close rather than a rail you look at from the bedroom, what is inside is arranged rather than stored, and glass fronts, lighting and lined drawers start to earn their cost. None of it is necessary and all of it is priced separately, which is the point of listing it.
One at a time
What each one does, and what it costs you
Every item is a separate line on your drawing, so you can take one out and see exactly what comes off the price.
- Island with deco drawers
- The largest single accessory in a walk-in and the one that needs the most room — thirty-six inches of clear floor on every side, which many closets cannot give. Where it fits, it holds folded knitwear, jewellery and accessories at waist height and gives the room a surface to work on. Starts around $2,500.
- Slanted shoe shelves and the shoe gallery
- Angled shelving presents the shoe rather than storing it, and a glass front keeps dust off without hiding what is there. Slanted shelves hold roughly a third fewer pairs per foot than flat ones, so it is a choice about display against capacity, made per bay rather than for the whole closet.
- Velvet-lined and Lucite drawers
- Black velvet drawer bottoms with clear Lucite dividers, sized to what you actually keep — watches, rings, cufflinks, sunglasses. The dividers lift out, so one drawer can be re-laid for a different collection without rebuilding it.
- The security drawer
- A concealed locking drawer inside the cabinetry, with no visible lock face. It is not a safe and we will not call it one, but it keeps valuables out of an opportunist's reach and out of sight during a viewing or a party.
- Valet rods, belt racks and tie drawers
- A valet rod pulls out to hang tomorrow's outfit clear of everything else. Sliding belt and tie racks live in the dead vertical space beside a drawer tower, and a tie drawer keeps them flat rather than creased over a rail.
- Deco doors with fluted glass
- Fluted or matte glass fronts on the upper bays: the contents read as shape and colour rather than detail, which keeps a wall of storage calm. Used on the bays you want quiet and left off the ones you want to see into.
- Crown and base molding
- The trim that closes the gap between cabinetry and an out-of-square wall, and stops a fitted closet reading as furniture standing in a room. Small money, and the difference between built-in and delivered.
- LED lighting
- Strip lighting under shelves and along hanging rails, switched or on a door sensor. Typically $200 to $600 for a closet depending on run length. It matters most in a windowless walk-in, where colour is otherwise guesswork.

Questions
Questions, answered
No. The drawing prices every item separately, so you can add or remove them while the quote is open. What is worth deciding early is anything structural — an island, a bench or a bay of slanted shoe shelves changes the layout around it, so those are cheaper to settle before manufacturing than after.
It needs thirty-six inches of clear floor on every side once the drawers are open. In a six-by-eight closet that is usually not there, and we will tell you so rather than build a narrower one that you cannot walk around. A bench or a shallow peninsula off one wall is the usual alternative.
No, and we would not describe it as one. It is a concealed drawer with a lock, built into the cabinetry with no visible lock face. It defeats an opportunist and keeps valuables out of sight; it is not rated against a determined attempt and anything genuinely irreplaceable belongs in a proper safe.
Usually yes, if it is one of ours. Rods, valet rods, belt and tie racks and most drawer inserts retrofit into an existing system. Lighting and glass doors depend on what is already there. Send us photographs and we will tell you what will fit before anyone visits.
